Powys County Council has welcomed the news that Ysgol Bro Caereinion has been removed from Estyn’s list of schools requiring review.
Estyn, the education and training inspectorate for Wales, has judged the school to have made appropriate progress in respect of the key issues for action, and in developing the capacity to continue to bring about improvements.
Cllr James Gibson-Watt, Cabinet Member for a Learning Powys, said: “This is very positive news for Ysgol Bro Caereinion and reflects the commitment and hard work of the headteacher, staff, governors, learners and the wider school community. Their determination to make improvements has been clear, and this outcome is a testament to those efforts.
“While this marks an important milestone, the council will continue to work closely with Ysgol Bro Caereinion to support its ongoing improvement journey. This includes advancing the school’s progress along the Welsh language continuum and preparing for the introduction of Trochi hwyr (late immersion) from September 2026, ensuring that the school remains inclusive and accessible to all pupils.
