Before the snow-storms forced the cancellation of the final shows in early March, Thriller Live was wowing audiences. Now it’s returning to Cardiff’s New Theatre from 23 – 28 July to fulfil those lost dates, and bringing with it all the magic of the world’s greatest music entertainer, Michael Jackson.

Thriller Live first opened in the West End at the Lyric Theatre in January 2009 to rave reviews and is now one of the top-10 longest running shows in West End history. It never fails to get the audience on its feet and has received more than 3,500 standing ovations at the Lyric, where it also holds the record as the longest running show since the theatre opened in December 1888. The show has sold over 2,000,000 million West End tickets and has been seen by over 4,000,000 people in 32 countries, playing over 5,000 performances worldwide.

Producers Paul Walden and Derek Nicol said “After very nearly a decade in the West End, Thriller Live continues to go from strength to strength. Michael Jackson’s music has never been more popular, and just like other successful shows, Thriller Live has many loyal fans who come back time after time. We aim to keep the show fresh and exciting for them for many years to come through subtle changes, additional special effects and new video content.”

Thriller Live is unlike other West End musicals. There is no script or story, instead a spectacular concert celebration of Michael Jackson’s music and dance legacy is brought to life. Charting Jackson’s 45 year musical history, audiences experience over two hours of his worldwide hits from pop to rock, soul to disco in a show that pays homage to Jackson’s legendary live performances and innovative dance moves – all recreated by the show’s award-winning director, Gary Lloyd.

Thriller Live runs from 23 – 28 July and tickets are available from the Box Office on (029) 2087 8889 and newtheatrecardiff.co.uk.
