Swansea’s summer is set to sizzle as acclaimed Welsh indie rock band Who’s Molly has been announced as the headline act for Amplitude, a free two-day music festival at the historic Swansea Amphitheatre this August.
The Swansea band recently opened for McFly at Tunes on the Bay, earning widespread praise.
Returning for its second year and taking place on 16 and 17 August, Amplitude promises to be an unforgettable weekend of live music, community spirit, and summer celebration.
The event will feature a diverse lineup of local and national talent, with Who’s Molly closing out the festivities on the Saturday night with their signature anthemic sound.
Councillor Robert Francis-Davies, Cabinet Member for Investment, Regeneration, Events, and Tourism at Swansea Council, said: “We’re absolutely thrilled to welcome Who’s Molly as our headline act. They’ve built a huge following with their powerful live performances and infectious energy, and we can’t wait to see them light up the Amplitude stage.
“Bringing free live music to our city not only creates vibrant community spaces, but also plays a vital role in supporting our grassroots music scene and giving local talent a platform to shine.”
Organised by Swansea Council, other acts include Daisy, Whilbur, Kizzy Crawford, Siglo 6, and closing Sunday night’s set for another year will be renowned funk group Disco Panther.
New for this year, Amplitude and Swansea Council will also be working alongside independent grassroots music venue partners in the city, to host afterparties on the Friday and Saturday night. It’s so important, now, more than ever, to show up for Swansea’s fantastic local music scene and support the venues that keep it alive all year long.
