Residents and bus users will soon have the opportunity to help shape plans for future improvements at Pontypridd Bus Station.

Rhondda Cynon Taf Council has announced a public consultation to gather views on how the station’s infrastructure could be enhanced, with feedback helping to inform the design of a future improvement scheme.

The consultation follows the award of funding from the Welsh Government’s Regional Transport Grant, which will support investigation and design work for the proposed project.

The consultation will launch on Tuesday, June 23, and remain open until Monday, July 20.

Bus users and residents will be able to complete a survey online via the Council’s website, while staff will also be present at Pontypridd Bus Station at various times throughout the consultation period to help people take part in person.

Paper copies of the survey will also be available at local venues, including Pontypridd Library at Llys Cadwyn.

The Council will promote the consultation through posters displayed at the bus station, featuring QR codes linking directly to the survey, as well as through its social media channels.

From June 23, the survey and supporting information will be available in the Consultations section of the Council’s website.

Council officers say all feedback received during the consultation will be used to help shape the design work for future improvements at the bus station.

Residents are reminded that comments left on social media cannot be considered as part of the formal consultation process and that anyone wishing to have their views included must complete the survey.

The Council has also stressed that any future improvement scheme would be subject to a successful funding application at a later stage.

Residents and regular bus users are being encouraged to take part and help influence the future development of one of the county borough’s key public transport hubs.
