Debbie McGee will play Miss Lynch in the new UK & Ireland tour of GREASE The Musical, which comes to Wales Millennium Centre in Cardiff from Monday 3 to Saturday 8 May 2027.
The casting was announced by producer Colin Ingram.
Debbie McGee trained at the Royal Ballet School and began her career as a dancer with The Second Generation. In 1979 she appeared as a dancer in The Paul Daniels Summer Show and went on to become Paul Daniels’ assistant, appearing with him in The Paul Daniels Magic Show for the BBC.
In 1991 she was one of the first female magicians to become a member of The Magic Circle, which later gave her The Maskelyne Award for outstanding services to British magic. She is now its Honorary Vice President.
She later founded the touring ballet company Ballet Imaginaire and presented her own Sunday show on BBC Radio Berkshire for twelve years.
She reached the final of the 2017 series of Strictly Come Dancing as the oldest celebrity contestant to do so, and won the 2019 Strictly Come Dancing Christmas Special.
2026 marks her 50th year in showbusiness and the release of her autobiography, A Magical Life.
GREASE The Musical is directed by Curve’s Artistic Director Nikolai Foster, with choreography by Arlene Phillips and book, music and lyrics by Jim Jacobs and Warren Casey. It is produced by Colin Ingram for InTheatre Productions and Curve.
