More than 17,700 participants took part in Cardiff City FC Community Foundation programmes across seven local authorities last season, the charity has said.
The Foundation, the official charity of Cardiff City Football Club, described it as its biggest year of impact yet.
It comes after the Foundation held its Annual Impact Celebration Event at Cardiff City Stadium on 30 September, bringing together stakeholders, funders, supporters and partners.
The event coincided with the launch of the Foundation’s 2025-26 Impact Report, which sets out its work and the partnerships behind it. The Foundation said these had generated over £66 million across the last two seasons.
Hosted by Andrew Jenkins, Welsh Traitors Legend, motivational speaker and an Ambassador for the Foundation, the event heard from people who have experienced its work first-hand, covering health and wellbeing, learning and skills, and building stronger communities.
Former Cardiff City FC player Roger Gibbins spoke about his experience working on the expansion of the 1927 Club, which is supported by the Premier League Foundation and the PFA.
Other panellists described the Foundation’s work with partners such as The BUSY Group to give secondary-aged children another chance at education, while families explained how its disability football programme had brought them closer to both the club and each other.
Zac Lyndon-Jones, CEO at Cardiff City FC Community Foundation, said: “This event has been a brilliant opportunity to celebrate the people behind our work and hear first-hand about the difference our programmes are making. The numbers tell an important story, but behind every number is a person, a relationship and a moment that matters.”
He added: “We’re incredibly proud of what we have achieved over the last year, but our focus now is on creating even more of those moments — for more children, young people, families and communities across South Wales.”
Speaking at the event, Ken Choo, Cardiff City FC Executive Director & CEO, said: “Hearing from our Community Foundation’s beneficiaries in Cardiff this morning really brings home the impact that our Club is having on the people in our local communities. I’d like to thank the Community Foundation’s staff for their continued effort and congratulate the beneficiaries on their progress. It was a pleasure meeting you.”
The Foundation uses football to support children, young people and families across South Wales through education, sport and community projects. It said it plans to continue its growth and expansion so it can deliver its services and projects to more children, young people and families across the region.
