A man has been jailed following several burglaries in February 2026.

Gary Jones 38, from Church Village, Rhondda was sentenced to four years in prison following his conviction.

The sentencing took place at Cardiff Crown Court on Tuesday October 6 where Jones changed his plea from not guilty to guilty to three counts of burglary other than dwelling- theft, one count of theft of a motor vehicle and one count of possession of a class A drug- cocaine.

This follows officer’s receiving calls of several ram raid style burglaries in February 2026. CCTV showed two cars a Mitsubishi Colt and then a Vauxhall Zafira being used to ram properties, these two cars were linked to Jones.

Officers were made aware by Gwent Police that Jones had been established as a suspect for a burglary in their area. A review of CCTV obtained from Gwent shows that Jones was wearing shoes which match from the CCTV that we had obtained.

The day before Jones’s arrest a report was made of a motor bike being stolen, the CCTV of this offence also appears to show the same shoes and Jones.

Across the three properties Jones stole over £18,000 worth of goods.

The officer dealing with the case said:“Burglars like Gary Jones care nothing for the impact to the businesses that they cause his offending will have had a big effect on their lives.”

“It is always pleasing to see people like Gary Jones have justice catch up with them. He is deservedly heading to prison”
