Specialist business property adviser, Christie & Co has completed on the sale of The Eagles Hotel, a Grade II listed, 16 bedroom hotel in the heart of North Wales’ picturesque Conwy Valley.

[aoa id=”1″]The imposing hotel is situated in village of Llanrwst on the banks of the River Conwy, near to Snowdonia National Park and the popular tourist resort of Betws Y Coed and benefits from significant tourist trade throughout the year. The original building dates back to 1750 and, in keeping with its history, the hotel offers guests a combination of both period features and modern amenities. A more recent extension has been added which serves as a single storey function room, complementing the hotel’s existing bars and restaurant.[/aoa]

Previous owners, Rupert and Rhonda Stevens bought The Eagles Hotel in 2013 from receivers, since then they have managed an extensive refurbishment program whilst developing the busy bars, restaurant and letting rooms side of the business. They comment, “We have been completely welcomed and accepted by the local community over the last six years and have made many lifelong friends, we are sad to be leaving but hope to pursue other business interests outside the hotel sector.”

The hotel has been purchased by first time buyer, Gurnek Singh who is keen to maintain the high standards that have so far been achieved. He comments, “Though my experience up until now is within the construction industry, I was attracted to The Eagles Hotel by its fantastic location and excellent management. It provides a strong foundation for growth, and I plan to increase revenues over the coming years by gradually increasing the food & beverage side of the business.”

Tom O’Malley, Senior Business Agent at Christie & Co who handled the sale, comments, “We’re delighted to have helped Rupert and Rhonda find a buyer for their business. High quality and unique properties such as The Eagles Hotel continue to attract significant interest from the market and the incoming operator has numerous opportunities to take the business forward. We wish Gurnek all the best for the future.”

The Eagles Hotel was sold on a freehold basis off an asking price of £1,000,000.
