A country house sitting at the gateway to the popular Brecon Beacons national park has new owners for the first time in more than 20 years.

Llansantffraed Court, near Abergavenny, has changed hands in a deal brokered by global real estate advisor Colliers International.

The elegant, Grade II listed, property has 21 bedrooms, all en suite, and stylish public areas, and sits on a 19-acre site which includes a small lake, a walled garden with glass house, and a helipad.

While its origins date back to 1670, the main building was constructed in the mid-1800s.

The property was bought in 1996 by Mike Morgan, who said: “After 23 years, I just felt that the time was right to hand over the reins to someone else, and to focus my energy on my other business interests.

“But I am delighted that the sale has gone through and that a new chapter is about to begin for this grand property.”

Those interests include running the acclaimed Welsh Rarebits Collection marketing consortium, which has a curated portfolio of nearly 40 unique and rare, luxury hotels of distinction in Wales.

Peter Brunt, Head of Hotels Agency at Colliers International, said: ‘’We’ll watch with interest to see what the future holds, the property has a great presence unique to Monmouthshire.

“The previous owners have successfully run the property and now is the opportunity for the next chapter in its long history.

“The raise in popularity of these types of properties for wedding venues and exclusive hire evets was demonstrated by the considerable interest received.”
