To celebrate their 10th year anniversary and 30 years since The Beautiful South released ‘Song For Whoever’, The South will be heading south – to Carmarthen’s Lyric, 18 March.

When great British pop institution, The Beautiful South split in 2007, some members of the band didn’t feel ready to hang up their microphones or instruments just yet…  The South are an impressive, nine piece band who feature former members of The Beautiful South including singer Alison Wheeler and lifelong sax player Gaz Birtles who front the band.

They play the timeless songs made famous by The Beautiful South, such as number one single ‘A Little Time’, ‘Perfect 10’, ‘Rotterdam’, ‘Old Red Eyes Is Back’, ‘Good As Gold’, ‘Don’t Marry Her’ plus many more singles and album tracks as well as a few choice South originals – songs spanning an impressive 20-year career starting way back in 1989!

Spring brings a massive UK tour playing shows up and down the whole of the country, and The South are raring to go! Their live show promises to continue to celebrate their huge back catalogue alongside songs from The South’s debut album ‘Sweet Refrains’ and possibly some new material too!
