It’s the iconic television show that has mesmerised children (and, if we’re honest, adults) since it first aired on the BBC in the late 1990s.

Since then it was gone on the conquer kids’ TV across the world, and now the Teletubbies, who this year celebrate their 20th anniversary, are starring in their first-ever live theatre show, “Big Hugs,” created especially for the youngest audience.

Tinky Winky, Dipsy, Laa–Laa and Po appear at Cardiff’s New Theatre on the 7 and 8 July in a captivating live show full of love, laughter, music and “Big Hugs,” as they explore the magical world of Teletubbyland. Look out for the Tubby Phone, Noo-Noo and Sun Baby in their fun, bright world, which captures young children’s imaginations and encourages them to explore the world around them. Plus audiences will get to join in with brand new songs by BAFTA award-winning composer, Mani Svavarsson.

Teletubbies has been created and adapted for the stage by Richard Lewis, who has also created and directed the hugely successfulPeppa Pig Live shows. The show is produced by leading children’s theatre team, Fiery Light, in collaboration with licensor DHX Brands.

Featuring full-sized Teletubbies characters, visible from all areas of the theatre, bright colours, puppetry, movement, songs and actions, Teletubbies Live is the perfect show for introducing young children to the fun and magic of theatre.

Teletubbies runs from 7 and 8 July at various times throughout the days. Tickets are available from the Box Office on (029) 2087 8889 and newtheatrecardiff.co.uk.
