    Abergavenny Food Festival: What to look out for this weekend

    Abergavenny Food Festival returns this weekend, promising a packed programme of events, tastings and entertainment for food lovers of all ages.

    With more than 180 exhibitors spread across six venues in the town centre, visitors can expect bustling markets, chef demonstrations, talks, debates and family activities.

    Tickets
    Day tickets are priced at £16 for adults and £5 for ages 13–15, with under-13s going free. Weekend tickets are £25 for adults and £8.50 for 13–15 year olds.

    Festival highlights

    • Markets: Sample produce from across Wales, the Marches and beyond, with artisan makers and growers filling the streets with flavours, aromas and colour.

    • Chef demos: Watch top names including Thomasina Miers, Cyrus Todiwala, Becky Excell and Matt Tebbutt on the Gower Cottage Brownies Stage in the Market Hall. At the Castle, Cooking Over Fire returns with Sami Tamimi, Ixta Belfrage, Sam & Shauna (Hangfire Girls) and Owen Morgan.

    • Talks & debates: The Octopus Books Dome at the Castle hosts lively discussions, including BBC Radio 4 recordings of The Food Programme and Inside Science. The Local & Vocal Stage will feature food stories, environmental voices and live music.

    • Special events: Stroller ticket holders can attend free sessions including Hospitality in Crisis, a Saturday evening panel chaired by Sheila Dillon, and Fast Food Revolutionaries with Tim Hayward in conversation with The Beefy Boys and Pizza Pilgrims.

    • Family fun: Budding cooks can get hands-on at the Castell Howell Kids Cookery School at the Castle, with sessions designed to inspire the next generation of chefs.

    A handy fold-out Festival Guide with maps and performance times will be available to pick up on the day to help visitors plan their weekend.

    With food, drink, music and debate on offer throughout the town, the Abergavenny Food Festival is set to once again be one of Wales’ standout culinary events of the year.
