Leading recruitment agency Acorn is celebrating after taking home two awards at the Institute of Recruitment Professionals (IRP) Awards, an awards ceremony which celebrates the successes of the UK’s brightest recruitment professionals and recognises their professional excellence and best practice.

Specialist recruiter Kristy Moore was crowned the ‘Best Permanent Consultant’ and then went on to win the most coveted award of the night taking home the UK’s ‘Recruiter of the Year’ title.

Kristy manages Acorn’s Chippenham Branch and has worked for the company for eight years. During this time she has consistently demonstrated her passion and commitment to Acorn and the employers and candidates she works with.  Described as honest, passionate and determined, she instantly impresses everyone she meets and as a result has now been recognised as the best recruitment consultant across the whole of the UK.

Speaking about the award, Kristy said: “I was absolutely thrilled to have been awarded the UK’s Permanent Consultant of the Year, and then I couldn’t believe it when I was announced as the overall Recruiter of the Year also! Working within the recruitment industry is my passion; people trust me to find and match them to a company who will have a huge impact in their future for the next five, ten, even twenty years, so the least I can do is give everyone my undivided attention, and commit my drive and passion to finding them the best opportunity available.  To be recognised for my work in this way is just incredible.”

Acorn South West divisional manager Noel Hoare said: “We are absolutely delighted for Kristy. She is an outstanding member of the Acorn Group, who has shown great commitment to both her team in Chippenham and to Acorn, and her dedication to her clients and candidates is outstanding.

She is hugely respected by all of her colleagues within Acorn who have all witnessed her superb work ethic. I can say personally as her line manager for over 8 years that she is without doubt the most impressive recruiter I have worked with during my 20 years within the recruitment industry.”

The Chippenham branch is one of Acorn’s 39 branches and onsite support locations throughout the UK.  Acorn prides itself on providing specialist recruitment support and an elite executive search service to businesses and job seekers all over the country, and in a number of specialist industries including Accounts & Finance, Commercial, Construction, Engineering, Driving, Healthcare, Legal, Industrial and Technical.  These latest awards end what has been a tremendous year for Acorn as they have just opened four new branches following employer demand in Manchester, Bridgwater, Bournemouth and Baglan.

Matt Southall, Group Managing Director said: “This is fantastic news for Kristy and everyone at Acorn.  Winning such a prestigious recruitment award has confirmed what I’ve been saying for many years, in that we truly have the best recruiters in the country.  From one branch launched 25 years ago to 39 branches and onsite support offices throughout the UK, I couldn’t be prouder of how far we have come, and it’s thanks to the commitment and loyalty of every single employee.”

Winning an IRP Award is the most impressive industry recognition a recruiter or recruitment company can achieve, and the awards are unique in raising awareness of positive industry role models who value candidate care and client relations.

The REC’s Institute of Recruitment Professionals (IRP) celebrated its ninth annual award ceremony at the Park Plaza Westminster Bridge Hotel on the 6th December 2017 and was hosted by former Conservative MP, writer, broadcaster, and actor Gyles Brandreth.

Kristy attended the ceremony, alongside Acorn’s Group Commercial Director Scott Liddle and the group’s Marketing team who have also been shortlisted this year in the Business Leader of the Year and Best Back-Office Support Team categories respectively.

REC chief executive, Kevin Green, said, “Our winners deserve a huge amount of credit and can be held up as the leading lights within recruitment. Recruiters transform lives, and all the companies and individuals showcased this year clearly show the value that our industry delivers every day.

“In 2017 we received a record number of high caliber entries, and everyone on the shortlist should be proud of their work, which is driving up standards and professionalism in recruitment.”
