Cardiff Bay’s leading entertainment destination, The Red Dragon Centre, has this week unveiled a brand-new venue taking residence within the iconic centre, Volcano Japanese Restaurant.

The restaurant, which opened its doors on Tuesday (13 October), is Cardiff’s only all-you-can-eat Japanese restaurant and offers an unrivalled selection of authentic cuisine for customers to choose from, including fresh sushi, hot teppanyaki and miso soup.

Volcano will employ eight members of staff, including four experienced Japanese chefs, and is pushing ahead with the launch despite the difficult economic climate. With a number of steps implemented, such as an advanced table ordering system and socially distanced seating, the business will ensure it can safely operate and keep staff and customers protected at all times.

Volcano’s proprietor, Mrs Lin, said: “We are very excited to be launching Volcano this week, bringing high quality Japanese cuisine to Cardiff Bay. We were attracted to the vibrant atmosphere of The Red Dragon Centre and hope that even in these unusual times, our business will be able to thrive there.

“Our extremely talented chefs use only the freshest ingredients to create our dishes and I’m sure that once customers try our food, they will want to come back again and again. We are looking forward to welcoming many new customers to Volcano over the coming weeks and months, and hope that everyone will find something on our menu that they can enjoy.”

Open seven days a week, Volcano will be offering customers 50% off their à la carte lunchtime menu throughout October and November, as well as discounts for takeaways.

Clare Jenkins, Manager of the Red Dragon Centre, said: “It is a joy to be able to welcome Volcano to The Red Dragon Centre. Their team has worked incredibly hard to make sure that the restaurant can open safely, while offering absolutely delicious food and I wish them every success.”

Since reopening to the public in the summer, The Red Dragon Centre has introduced a multitude of health and safety measures with the wellbeing of both visitors and staff at their heart.
