Applications now open for Caerphilly’s £125 school uniform grant

Parents across Caerphilly County Borough can now apply ONLINE for a £125 grant (except for year 7 which is £200) towards their children’s school uniforms, sports kits, or equipment for other activities outside of school.

A new online application process has been launched for learners in the Caerphilly county borough to access grants for school uniform and equipment for the 2021/22 academic year.

Applications for this year’s Pupil Development Grant Access will be administered centrally by Caerphilly County Borough Council and not by individual schools.

The funding can be used to purchase:

  • School uniform, including coats and shoes
  • School sports kit including footwear
  • Uniform for wider activities, for example sports, Scouts and Guides
  • School equipment where new curriculum activities begin such as design and technology; and
  • Equipment for out of school hours trips such as waterproofs for outdoor learning.
  • Laptops or tablets to assist with remote learning.

Welsh Government advise families to contact their child’s school/setting to discuss loaning equipment before purchasing.Mobile phones are excluded from this funding.

If you have already purchased the items, you can still apply and receive the funds retrospectively.

The council assures families that applications and payments will be ongoing throughout the summer holiday period, into September and onwards.  If items have already been purchased, applications can still be made, and payments issued retrospectively.
