Eight abandoned cats were taken into the care of the RSPCA – after rescuers found them in a property full of rubbish, multiple lumps of faeces, stale food and urine stains. A convicted paedophile has been sentenced to 20 years and 8 months for historic sexual offences against a child. Robert Evans from Ely, Cardiff, pleaded guilty to nine offences including rape of a child, sexual assault of child under 13 and breach of sex offenders’ notification requirements. Built in the 1830s, Cardiff’s Dock Feeder Canal entered a new phase in its history recently, when a section of the city waterway that had been hidden beneath Churchill Way in Cardiff city centre since 1948 was uncovered. This is necessary for the facility to be deep-cleaned and other essential repair work to be carried out.
