Swansea Council is in the early stages of the development of 22 new homes on council-owned land in Ravenhill. The Council’s chosen housing planning consultants for the scheme – Asbri Planning, have started a pre-planning consultation and are seeking the views of locals about the proposals. Council has provided an update on the ongoing work towards reopening Castle Inn Footbridge in Treforest – including details of recently-completed service diversions and an upcoming road closure this weekend. The old bridge between River Street in Treforest and Cardiff Road in Glyntaff was demolished due to severe storm damage – and a replacement structure has been installed to reinstate the link over the river. South Wales Police are continuing to investigate a fatal collision on Southville Road, Sandfields, Port Talbot, that occurred at approximately 10pm on Thursday 4 January 2024. A scheme to help disabled people access a parking space near their property if they don’t have a useable driveway or garage is accepting new applications. Following a successful first year of operation, Pembrokeshire County Council has reopened applications for Disabled Resident Parking Bays (previously known as Disabled Persons Parking Places or DPPPs). The application form for Disabled Resident Parking Bays is now online and all applications must be submitted by 5pm on Friday 5th April 2024.
