Tramshed Tech has announced they are working with a number of key industry partners to deliver groundbreaking programmes as part of the Barclays Eagle Labs Ecosystem Partnership Programme (EPP), funded by the Department for Science, Innovation and Technology. Tramshed Tech will manage and deliver two programmes specialising in GreenTech and CreativeTech which will run between October 2023 and March 2024. Both programmes centre around innovation and business growth – key areas identified as crucial to the success of the digital economy as per the Department for Science, Innovation and Technology’s report on Regional Digital Ecosystems. In addition, these programmes align with the Welsh Government’s Innovation Strategy and recent report which outlines the mission of moving Wales to a low carbon, innovation-led economy - Wales innovates: creating a stronger, fairer, greener Wales. SPORTING star Lucie Leonard will captain Anglesey (Ynys Mon) in a prestigious new netball tournament. The 21 year-old will lead the team against five other regions at the inaugural Invitational Island Games, to be hosted by the National Sports Centre, Isle of Man, from November 6-11. Lucie, from Brynsiencyn, has the support of students and staff at St Gerard’s School in Bangor, where she was a pupil from the age of four to 18 years old. Following an update on the progress of the Grand Pavilion redevelopment in Porthcawl, Bridgend County Borough Council’s Cabinet have agreed to some changes to the procurement process to reduce the risk of any delays to the project. Earlier this year, the Council were awarded £18m Levelling Up Funding from the UK Government, following a successful application by the council working in close partnership with Awen Cultural Trust. The project will improve the condition of the Grade II listed building by addressing the issue of concrete cancer whilst also creating new function rooms, office spaces and cafe facilities. Swansea Council’s Cabinet has been a told that planned savings and prudent management of resources will see the council maintain its course and live within its means by the end of the financial year. A school, a chapel, a community trust and a community library are among the successful applicants in the latest round of funding from Neath Port Talbot Council’s new Community Heritage Fund. The fund is part of the Heritage NPT project – made possible by a generous donation from the National Lottery Heritage Fund – to which charities and not-for-profit organisations, schools, heritage groups, community groups, Town Councils and Ministry Areas (church groups) can apply. Caerphilly County Borough Council’s Cabinet has unanimously approved final plans for two flagship housing developments in Oakdale and Risca. The developments will see disused sites at the former Oakdale Comprehensive School and Ty Darran care home, Risca transformed as part of the Council’s ambitious house building programme. Cabinet members endorsed proposals for the Council’s Caerphilly Homes team to enter into a Delivery Agreement, for the development of both sites, with construction expert Willmott Dixon. Ysbyty Ystrad FM launched in February 2021 to help reduce feelings of loneliness and isolation whilst staying in hospital. The hospital radio aims to ease anxiety and give a sense of belonging to patients. YYFM is free to use and accessible to patients, tablets are available to use on wards or you can use your own personal device. The radio station is also available outside of the hospital. The project has created working partnerships with University of South Wales, Caerphilly County Borough Council, communities for work and local schools.
