A Welsh teenager is sharing his experience of living with a heart condition to raise awareness of research funded by the British Heart Foundation (BHF) which could revolutionise the way surgeons treat children living with congenital heart disease, so they don’t need as many open-heart operations. Louie, 13, from Cardiff, was born with a number of congenital heart defects. He’s already had two open-heart surgeries to correct them, which were performed by BHF-funded researcher Professor Massimo Caputo.
