A catchy song played on a ukulele and a novel computer game were amongst the innovative resources designed for primary school children by Aberystwyth University Criminology students. The Youth Crime and Justice module, taught at the Department of Law and Criminology, provides students with an understanding of child development, youth crime and the treatment of children who offend, as well as evaluating a number of youth justice initiatives. There is another chance for community groups and charities that support people in Swansea facing food poverty to apply for funding. So far this year almost £150,000 has been shared between organisations to fund crisis food provision including food for parcels, hampers and warm meals, volunteer costs, improved storage and the purchase of fridge freezers. It has also been used to help fund community shops, community lunches, cookery classes, Christmas hampers and food growing projects.
