Japan’s UK Ambassador to the UK has visited manufacturing giant Sony UK Technology Centre, on his first visit to the plant in Wales. Ambassador H.E Hayashi Hajime visited Wales on 8th November 2022 to mark 50 years of Japanese investment into Wales. A joiner has given a relieved thumbs up to the Swansea Bay surgeon whose skill has enabled him to do just that after he cut it off in a workplace accident. The not-for-profit social enterprise has launched successful music and sensory activities for babies and toddlers. Baby Jam and Toddler Jam bring them together in a warm, welcoming environment at the popular Rhosrobin site. Free Wi-Fi is now available in town centres across Bridgend County Borough with the aim of increasing connectivity among residents, businesses and visitors. The free service is available in the four town centres of Bridgend, Porthcawl, Maesteg and Pencoed. In order to connect, individuals will need to search their Wi-Fi network settings for “BCBC free Wi-Fi” and will then need to enter their email address to begin.  The homepage will be presented in Welsh and there will be a toggle at the top right of the screen for those residents who want to switch to English if needed. Tens of thousands of residents and visitors turned out for Swansea’s annual Christmas parade which heralded the countdown to the festive season. They enjoyed the free Swansea Council event that featured a vibrant mix of local community groups, spectacular professional entertainers, marching bands, magical floats, colourful film characters and festive inflatables. Santa Claus was there too, switching on the city centre’s glittering Christmas lights. Merthyr Council has produced a video showing how the lives of local homeless people have changed for the better following housing support they received during the pandemic. Changes made as a result of the pandemic to the Emergency Housing Act meant a statutory duty was placed on all local authorities in Wales to provide temporary accommodation for all people sleeping rough or without a permanent place to live.
