Police have confirmed that all pupils and staff were safely released from Maesydderwen Comprehensive School in Ystradgynlais this afternoon following a reported telephone threat. Officers were called to the school earlier today, Monday, 2 March, after a threat was made over the phone. As a precaution, the school put its lockdown procedure in place while police attended the scene. Parents were informed through the school messaging app, and officers worked closely with staff to ensure everyone on site remained safe and secure. Esports Wales has teamed up with the Football Association of Wales to enter national teams into the FIFAe competitions throughout 2026. Drivers faced disruption on the A470 southbound between Pontypridd and Coryton on Monday morning following a collision and a separate broken down vehicle. Traffic Wales reported that a collision had taken place in the area, with an additional vehicle breaking down in lane one, adding to congestion on the busy commuter route. A man from Port Talbot has been ordered to pay more than £1,000 after being caught fly-tipping on land near the town’s train station. On 11th July 2025, a Waste Enforcement Officer at Neath Port Talbot Council was called to land near Cramic Way following a report of a large amount of waste having been left on land nearby. It consisted of construction materials, a vehicle bumper and household waste.  Among the waste was a letter which linked investigators to an address in Briton Ferry.
