Bridgend County Borough Council is seeking views on proposals that will support the next phase of its ongoing regeneration plans for Porthcawl. The council wants to amend the designation for how almost 20 hectares of land in the Sandy Bay and Griffin Park area can be used to deliver the regeneration of Porthcawl’s waterfront area in accordance with both the Local Development Plan and the recently approved Placemaking Strategy. Senior representatives from a New Zealand-based company behind proposals to build an outdoor adventure park in Swansea have visited the city to progress their plans. Proposals for Kilvey Hill put forward by Skyline Enterprises include a cable car system, ziplines and luge runs as part of an attraction aiming to open in 2025. Design work, land assembly and funding discussions are all on-going which, once finalised, would pave the way for a planning application. Flying in the skies above Swansea Bay on July 2 and 3, the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight will showcase three of just a handful of planes still in the air more than 70 years after their finest hours. SENIOR POLITICAL APPOINTMENTS have been confirmed by Neath Port Talbot Council at its Annual Meeting held at Port Talbot Civic Centre on Tuesday (June 7th, 2022). A new coalition to lead Neath Port Talbot Council was formally appointed following last month’s local elections when representatives from the Independent, Plaid Cymru and Dyffryn Independent groups made an agreement to share power.
