Work to open up the dock feeder canal, part of a wider masterplan to create a new vibrant Canal Quarter in the east of the city centre, will begin on Churchill Way on Monday, February 7. The works which are scheduled to run for twelve months will see Churchill Way, north of North Edward Street, closed to traffic during that time. Grangemoor Park will close for at least 12 weeks from Monday, January 31, so that essential maintenance can take place on the restored landfill site. Heavy lifting begins Saturday 5 February, as Network Rail begins the carefully planned installation of a brand-new footbridge and two lifts at one of south Wales’ busiest stations.
