Unfortunately, the current yellow weather warning for high winds on Saturday means that Caerphilly Council have no option but to cancel the event due to safety concerns. The market stalls have a maximum wind speed limit and the forecast is near double this. The Council have left the decision as late as possible and looked into alternative options to keep the event going, but regret that they have now had to make a final decision.

Christmas 2021 is officially underway in Wales after its biggest ever festive lights trail opened its doors to the public. The Silver Mountain Experience, a popular visitor attraction based just outside Aberystwyth, is preparing for the return of its popular Christmas event. Cwm Taf Morgannwg UHB has vaccinated its 100,000 patient with the booster vaccine yesterday at the Community Vaccination Centre (CVC) in Rhondda Cynon Taff. (Wednesday 24th November). CTM UHB began its COVID-19 Booster campaign on 27th September 2021, enabling more people to maintain protection ahead of the winter months. Aberystwyth University is set to become one of the greenest campuses in Wales after investing in multiple energy saving initiatives and announcing the development of its very own solar farm, which will power up to a quarter of its electricity needs. The £2.9m solar array, which will be located on university-owned land adjacent to its Fferm Penglais student accommodation, is expected to cut annual energy bills by over £320,000 and reduce energy related carbon emissions by 8% per year.
