A venture aiming to encourage locals to support Holywell businesses has achieved a sell-out with more than £4,000 injected into the local economy. Holywell Town Council’s voucher scheme, where local residents would get £2 to spend for every £1 spent up to a limit of £20, saw a total of £4,025 pumped into the Holywell economy across the months of May and June, with more than 95 per cent of vouchers redeemed. The first ever cohort of AGCO apprentices at Coleg Cambria Llysfasi have completed the three-year Technical Advanced Extended Diploma in Agricultural Engineering. Everyone can travel for free by bus around Swansea throughout the summer months. Swansea Council is funding the initiative to support families and boost retail, leisure and tourism as Swansea emerges from lockdown. The Cabinet of Bridgend County Borough Council has agreed to use compulsory purchase orders to acquire several pockets of land needed as part of Porthcawl’s ongoing regeneration. Overwhelming demand for the National Lido of Wales in Ponty has seen the booking system crash several times in recent days. Frustrated users have been left unable to book tickets despite the release of additional spaces, with all 1,800 tickets for the week ahead snapped up by 8:45am.
