A fast-growing financial advisory firm from Flintshire that specialises in ethical investments has won a top environmental award. Mold-based Celtic Financial Planning won the micro business award at the inaugural Net Zero Leaders’ Awards for their eco-friendly approach. Communities for Work plus project have been able to help a Ceredigion resident get back into work after being made redundant left him out of work. Jahsyl Abberton from Aberystwyth was made redundant from his full-time post but managed to find temporary and part-time work. Whilst working as a waiter and a Door supervisor, Jahsyl came across the Communities for Work plus project in the local newspaper and decided to visit the council office to find out more information. A venture aiming to encourage locals to support Holywell businesses has achieved a sell-out with more than £4,000 injected into the local economy. Holywell Town Council’s voucher scheme, where local residents would get £2 to spend for every £1 spent up to a limit of £20, saw a total of £4,025 pumped into the Holywell economy across the months of May and June, with more than 95 per cent of vouchers redeemed. The first ever cohort of AGCO apprentices at Coleg Cambria Llysfasi have completed the three-year Technical Advanced Extended Diploma in Agricultural Engineering.
