Wales – currently ranked third in the world in recycling- upheld its stellar recycling rates last year despite the pandemic, new 2020-21 stats have revealed today. Nationally the recycling rate was 65.4% with eighteen of 22 local authorities exceeding the statutory minimum target of 64%, and 13 reporting an increase in performance on the previous year. First Minister Mark Drakeford has thanked people throughout Wales for their hard work to help reduce record-high coronavirus case rates over the last three weeks. A charity that supports people to take up outdoor activities as a life-long pursuit to improve their health and well-being has expanded from its base in Capel Curig to cover the whole of Wales. Corris Railway will be running its annual weekend of Santa Special trains on December 11 and 12 this year. Headed by steam engine number 7, the train will leave Corris Station for a short winter’s day journey along part of the beautiful Dulas Valley to Maespoeth Junction where Santa will be waiting with presents for children.
