A 100% electric bus is heading for Swansea to share the climate emergency message – and businesses across the city can be part of it. The Carbon Battle Bus is on a UK-wide tour thanks to sustainability organisation Planet Mark and it will be parked outside the Guildhall for the afternoon of September 13. Merthyr Tydfil County Borough Council is planning a redevelopment of the Leisure Centre pools and nearby skate park. A leading UK leisure facility developer which has been assessing the problems with the pools is producing a feasibility report with costs and timeframes. The Council and leisure centre manager Wellbeing@Merthyr (Merthyr Tydfil Leisure Trust) will then consult the community on the proposals. Registered child care premises in Wales will benefit from 100% non-domestic rates relief for an additional three years, the Deputy Minister for Social Services Julie Morgan has announced. The extension of the rates relief, until 31 March 2025, will provide £9.7m of additional support for registered childcare premises. This will help those who are facing financial difficulties as a result of the pandemic and secure the level of provision that children and parents need and rely on.
