Born in Neath Port Talbot in 1925, Burton became a global icon of film and theatre, earning several Academy Award nominations throughout his career. Natural Resources Wales has issued an update following severe flooding across parts of Wales caused by Storm Claudia, with several communities still facing significant disruption. The organisation said its thoughts are with everyone affected by the flooding and confirmed that four severe flood warnings remain in place. South Wales Fire and Rescue Service has declared a major incident in Monmouth following severe and widespread flooding across the town and surrounding communities. At 01:30 hours on Saturday 15th November, a major incident was declared by South Wales Fire and Rescue Service due to the flooding as a result of Storm Claudia. South Wales Police are currently dealing with a road traffic collision on the A470, which has led to the southbound carriageway being closed from the Caerphilly exit slip road. The closure is expected to remain in place for some time and drivers are being asked to avoid the area and find another route if possible. Police have thanked motorists for their patience while the incident is ongoing. Some drivers say they have been able to leave the A470 at the Caerphilly junction, travel across the roundabout and rejoin the road further along, although delays remain likely.
