Emergency services are dealing with a large diesel train which is on fire on the track near Llangennech. A cordon has been put in place around the train, with roads closed and homes being evacuated. Dyfed Powys Police are urging people to avoid the area. In the early hours of this morning, Police introduced an evacuation zone in the area. A brand new hospital for Wales will open four months ahead of schedule the Health Minister, Vaughan Gething has confirmed today. The Grange Hospital will officially open mid-November this year, instead of the original planned date in March 2021. The new facility based in Cwmbran, which has received over £360m Welsh Government funding will provide emergency and urgent care, brings together services previously provided at the Royal Gwent Hospital in Newport and Nevill Hall Hospital in Abergavenny. Tesco has closed its St Mellons superstore following a medical emergency earlier this evening. Speculation on social media has suggested that the male customer had earlier visited Brynderewen Surgery before entering the supermarket and collapsing. Local residents believe that the customer has since sadly passed away. Fundraising for Nightingale House Hospice will cross the Atlantic next weekend when a former Wrexham man is planning a 100km urban trek around the city of Toronto. Rob Newsome, 34, who has been living in Canada for the past ten years having before that lived in New Broughton, Wrexham for much of his life, is planning to do the trek over a 24 hour period. A new state-of the-art £6.9 million primary school in Gorseinon is ready to inspire a new generation of young people in September thanks to the dedication of two local businesses.
