Forever Flowers is an annual campaign, now in its fifth year, which invites supporters to remember cherished family members, friends, colleagues and other loved ones with a unique and lasting tribute. The funeral service of Elsie Galley, a former magistrate and respected community figure, was held at Pentrebychan Crematorium, Wrexham, where family and close friends gathered in tribute to her full and active life. Lampeter swimming pool will temporarily close in the summer to undergo essential works to improve the facility. Work will be carried out from 7 July until 11 August 2025 to upgrade the water treatment equipment within the swimming pool’s plant room in an investment worth over £140,000. The works have been scheduled to minimise the disruption to users, with the aim of reopening for the majority of the school summer Holidays. Lampeter Wellbeing Centre will be unaffected by the works. A Cardiff man went on a burglary spree in the north of Cardiff before he was spotted by patrolling officers has been jailed. Mark Burnell was arrested by officers on January 6, 2025. The officers spotted him rummaging through a plastic bag on Gillian Road. Colleagues from across Transport for Wales (TfW) have pedalled their way to success, raising over £1,000 in a static bike challenge supporting Seren Dwt, their 2025 charity of the year. The team collectively cycled more than 220 miles, the equivalent distance from Chester to Cardiff – during events held on 3 June in Cardiff and 5 June in Chester —exceeding their original 198-mile target.
