South Wales Police is continuing to investigate a shooting which happened in Clos Y Fynnon, Pontprennau, Cardiff at approximately 8pm on Saturday, June 7. Neath Port Talbot Council’s Trading Standards Team has obtained a closure order against a vape shop trading in Taibach, Port Talbot. A District Judge at Swansea Magistrates Court approved the closure of Vape Land in Commercial Road, Taibach, under Section 80 Of the Anti-Social Behaviour, Crime and Policing Act 2014. The premises had been found to be selling counterfeit and illicit (non-tax paid) tobacco and cigarettes as well as Illegal and oversized vapes on a number of occasions since June of Last year. Hundreds of Powys businesses in the retail, leisure and hospitality sectors have had their business rates bills reduced after applying for a rate relief scheme, the county council has said. The Business Rates: Retail, Leisure and Hospitality Rates Relief scheme for financial year 2025/26, which is administered by Powys County Council, has seen 700 businesses in the county receive the 40% relief which has reduced their business rate bills by £2.3m. A man from Neath Port Talbot has again been jailed after he breached a restraining order against him for the second time. 39-year-old Neal Hancock, from Neath, had previously served a custodial sentence for breaching a restraining order issued to him after being found guilty of stalking three people. Hancock pleaded guilty to having sent a message to one victim’s Instagram account on June 8, something he was prohibited from doing under the terms of the restraining order.
