THE Welsh Ambulance Service has issued a fresh plea for the public to use 999 responsibly as Christmas draws near. While the Christmas and New Year period is generally one of the busiest, new figures have revealed that last Christmas Day was actually the quietest day in December, prompting the Trust to suggest that people behave differently on December 25th from other days of the year when it comes to calling an ambulance. Dozens of Swansea residents who would like to raise funds for community projects attended a workshop hosted by crowdfunding specialists. The free event, at Morriston’s historic Tabernacle Chapel, was run by specialist funding organisation Spacehive. South Wales Police is investigating a fatal road traffic collision which occurred in the car park of a residential home yesterday afternoon (Monday, December 16). Officers were called to Morgana Court on Porthcawl Road, South Cornelly, at approximately 2.35pm after a silver Renault Captur was in collision with a woman. The 85-year-old woman died at the scene. Her family has been informed and is being supported by specialist officers. HM Coroner has also been informed.
