A nationwide search is underway for 9,000 volunteers to be at the heart of the historic Tour de France and Tour de France Femmes avec Zwift Grand Départs in the UK in July 2027. Around 1,000 volunteers will be needed in Wales for the third stage of the men’s race on 4 July. Police searching for missing Tonypandy man Steven Faulkner have confirmed that a body has been found. The 66-year-old had been missing from his home since Friday, May 23, prompting an extensive search involving officers and specialist resources. In an update issued last night, police confirmed that a body had been located during the search operation. Steven’s family has been informed. Formal identification has not yet been confirmed, however the death is not being treated as suspicious. Five men received three-year Football Banning Orders (FBO’s) last week, following incidents at two Wrexham FC home matches this year. Sion Yaxley, 29, from Pwllglas, Ruthin, pleaded guilty at Wrexham Magistrates’ Court to chanting homophobic abuse towards a group of Chelsea fans prior to Wrexham’s fifth round FA Cup tie on 7thMarch. He was fined £250 and must also pay a victim surcharge of £100 and costs of £85. Four more people have been convicted over the murder of a woman in Rhondda Cynon Taf in March last year. Police were called to an address at Llys Illtyd, Talbot Green, at 6.10pm on Sunday, March 9, 2025, where Joanne Penney was found seriously injured having been shot to the chest.
