Radio Cardiff has teamed up with local talent to raise funds for Welsh LGBT+ charity Pride Cymru and bring a diverse entertainment programme to listeners over 27 hours. A group of employees from ERS, the UK’s largest specialist motor insurer, recently took part in a charity trek challenge, raising thousands of pounds for London and Wales Air Ambulance. A total of 25 ERS employees took on the TrekFest challenge, which sees participants enduring tough climbs and steep descents along a 50k route within the Brecon Beacons. A young girl from Holywell with Type 1 diabetes has help to manage her condition from a special four-legged friend. Eight-year-old Ellie May Hodges was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes when she was just two. The relentless nature of the condition can have an emotional as well as physical impact, but Ellie receives valuable support from her best friend Lilly, a seven-month-old Golden Labrador. While the vast majority of young people appear to have no shortage of friends or things to do, a new social group has been set up in the Lower Swansea Valley following a request from some 16-30-year-olds. South Wales Police is continuing to investigate the disappearance of 32-year-old Jordan Moray from the Aberdare area. Jordan, who lives in Cwmbach, was reported missing on 2nd August 2019 by his family who are extremely concerned for his welfare. A Cardiff cat has been found hundreds of miles away from home in North Wales – after taking the five hour journey without his owners.
