Detectives in Cardiff are appealing for information following a burglary at an address in Old St Mellons yesterday (Saturday, July 28). Three men were captured on CCTV targeting the address on Began Road between 4.38pm and 4.53pm, having arrived at the property in a black Honda Civic, registration SE54 AGX. After smashing a patio door at the rear of the address, the three helped themselves to jewellery, designer handbags and car keys and a black Range Rover – registration LM68 JWP. The family of a grandfather who died following a collision in Cardiff’s Cathedral Road say he will be deeply missed. Eddie Gerrard was declared deceased at the scene of the incident, which occurred at about 5.45pm on Thursday, July 25. Police in Cardiff are investigating after a 17-year-old boy was stabbed in Butetown yesterday evening (Thursday, July 25). Emergency services were called to Christina Street at around 4.50pm, and the youth was taken to the University Hospital of Wales to be treated for his injuries which aren’t believed to be life-threatening. While carrying out enquiries at the scene a 19-year-old man was arrested, initially in connection with the incident, though officers quickly established he was not a suspect.
