The man who died following an incident in Cardiff city centre early Sunday morning has been named as 21-year-old Asim Khan. Mr Khan, who is from Grangetown was treated by emergency services at the scene and then taken to the University Hospital of Wales, Cardiff, where he died from his injuries. His family are being supported by family liaison officers. A 27-year-old local man has been arrested in connection with the incident and is currently in custody at Cardiff Bay Police Station. THE dairy farming co-operative behind some of Wales’s most innovative and popular cheeses has been shortlisted for a top business award for its contribution to the rural economy. A new head has been appointed at Myddelton College in Denbigh which is the second fastest growing private school in the UK. THOUSANDS of mud-spattered fundraisers splashed their way through Cancer Research UK’s Pretty Muddy obstacle course in Swansea with one goal in mind – to raise vital funds to help beat cancer. Around 2,500 children, men and women faced a range of fun and muddy obstacles to crawl under, clamber over and charge through for the 5k event at Singleton Park last weekend (Saturday 20 July.) The Cluster for Epigenomic and Antibody Drug Conjugate Therapeutics (CEAT) based at based at Swansea University’s Medical School received £1.2m by the European Regional Development Fund via the Welsh Government earlier this year. South Wales Police have launched a murder investigation following the death of a man in Cardiff city centre during the early hours of this morning. Officers were called at approximately 4.50am today (Sunday 21st July) to St Mary’s Street following reports of an assault. Significant police enquiries are on-going in the area, the deceased man has not yet been formally identified.
