The family of a man who died as result of a two vehicle road traffic collision that occurred on the A4067 Mumbles road, Swansea on August 24 have paid tribute to him. The collision occurred at approximately 5.20pm and involved a Ford Galaxy and a Green Kawasaki motorcycle, the rider of the motorcycle, Paul Jones, died at the scene. 50-year-old Paul, was well known by all as ‘Paulie’ and from the Port Tennant area. The owner of a Cardiff-based beauty salon is spearheading a ‘prepare to smear’ campaign to encourage women to attend their cervical smear tests. Lacy Farrow, of La Beaute Boutique in Whitchurch, is inviting women for a free intimate wax to help them feel more confident when attending their smear appointment. Cervical screening aims to prevent cancer from developing in the cervix and is often perceived as embarrassing and painful. The girl with the dragon tattoo has nothing on a Swansea gran who has had her eyes “tattooed” to cure a rare condition. Work has started on a £6m scheme to transform one of Swansea city centre’s most prominent buildings. Big hearted staff at a care home in Wrexham have been helping drive forward a fund raising appeal honouring Grand Prix racing hero Tom Pryce.
