A man has been handed a suspended prison sentence after subjecting his Jack Russell Terrier to “immense suffering” through blunt force trauma – having weeks earlier asked vets to put the dog to sleep. Lindsey Stoneham, 57, of Llwyncelyn in Bettws was last week (23 August) given a 12-week prison sentence suspended for one year, and a four-year ban on the keeping of all animals. He had previously been found guilty of an Animal Welfare Act offence at Cardiff Magistrates’ Court, following a trial. South Wales Police is appealing for witnesses following a fatal road traffic collision on the A4067, Mumbles Road, Swansea, Saturday, August 24. The collision involving a silver Ford Galaxy and a green Kawasaki motorcycle, happened shortly after 5.20pm. The motorcyclist, a 50-year-old Swansea man, died at the scene. His next of kin have been informed and are being supported by a family liaison officer. The occupants of the Ford were taken to hospital for treatment. Michael Iannucci, aged 20, of Barry, pleaded guilty to possession with intent to supply class A drug –MDMA and two counts of offering to supply MDMA. At Cardiff Crown Court on Friday (Aug 23), he was sentenced to five years and four months in a young offender institution. South Wales Police is appealing for witnesses to a road traffic collision which happened in Cardiff city centre last night (Thursday 22nd August). The incident happened in Wood Street shortly before 11.30pm when a man riding a bicycle was in collision with a dark coloured car. The cyclist suffered serious head injuries and is currently in a critical condition at the University Hospital of Wales. A 22-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the incident and is in police custody.
