The 68 year-old woman who died following a road traffic collision on Cowbridge Road, Cardiff on Friday 16th August has been named as Oi Mee Lam from Llandaff. The collision involved a grey Nissan Micra, a black Audi A3 and a black taxi. Ms Lam, the driver of the Micra, was taken to the University Hospital of Wales, where she later died. A Welsh dragon has taken pride of place on the new International Convention Centre Wales (ICC Wales) in Newport, overlooking the M4. It was built within workshops in Pontypool and Caldicot by local company Pro Steel Engineering. It has taken over eight months to create and approximately 22 tonnes of steel plate and section. The team had a range of employees working on the project, fabricators, welders, painters and erectors. Talyllyn Railway has had a close connection with Abergynolwyn ever since the village was first developed to provide homes for slate quarry workers in the 19th century. The railway was originally built to carry slate down to the coast for shipment onwards by sea or by mainline railway, but additionally it has always been an important part of the local transport infrastructure.
