Dragon Taxis has opened in Cwmbran and neighbouring areas, enabling Torfaen residents and businesses to benefit from reduced fares and an improved passenger experience. The Allied Bakeries’ factory in Cardiff, which produces Kingsmill bread, is set to halt bread production in mid September and become a logistics depot, with a potential loss of 176 jobs. The bakery has been running since 1971 at its Maes-y-Coed Rd site in Llanishen and the union representing its workers have fought “tirelessly” in the hope of keeping bread production open and saving jobs. The UK Government has today (Wednesday 21 August) announced that it will start automatically enrolling UK firms in a customs system as it speeds up its preparations for a no-deal Brexit.
