125 gully grids have been stolen in the city since the middle of July. [aoa id=”1″] The thefts have taken place in Llanedeyrn; Whitchurch; Ely; Pentrebane; Pentwyn; Fairwater and most recently in Radyr and Rhiwbina. The cost to the taxpayer to make safe and replace the grids has now reached in the region of £43,000. The grids that have been stolen are being replaced with new frames and the grids cannot be lifted out. Finance Secretary Mark Drakeford has today announced £5.3 million for 2 schemes to help Wales’ advanced manufacturing workforce keep pace with global advances in innovation and technology. Pupils in Anglesey are being urged to apply for a series of new fully paid scholarships to an international residential college on Vancouver Island, Canada. The North Wales Economic Ambition Board has submitted its Bid for a Growth Deal to both the UK and Welsh Governments. The regional partners are being invited to adopt the Bid – called the Proposition Document – during October in readiness for a first stage agreement between Governments and the region. Grand Tour Champion Geraint Thomas has been honoured with an Outstanding Achievement Award at the 2018 Litelok Welsh Cycling Awards where Wales’ cycling community celebrated their success over the last twelve months. A new grant fund to encourage and support entrepreneurship in Further and Higher Education has been announced by Economy Secretary Ken Skates. A Welsh landlord had been ordered to give back almost £4,000 that was paid to him while operating without a licence.
