Another milestone has been reached in the construction of the Aberaeron Coastal Defence Scheme which will provide future protection from flood and coastal erosion. Scientists from Aberystwyth University are part of a £1.55m project to unravel long-term vaping risks and benefits on lung health for smokers. The project aims to address unanswered questions about the biological effects of vaping on lung cells, immune cells and inflammatory markers and airway microbiome. Unlike previous studies which considered effects on lung health at a single timepoint, this study will examine the effect of long-term vaping on the respiratory system over the course of a year. One of the UK’s oldest entrepreneurs, Peter Webber, emphasised the importance of his sons and wife in his business success as he celebrated his 90th birthday at the weekend. Two men have been arrested on suspicion of a burglary at St Fagans National Museum of History, Cardiff. The men aged 43 and 50 from Northampton were arrested yesterday afternoon and are in custody in Northamptonshire. South Wales Police continues to investigate the burglary which was reported at around 12.30am on Monday morning (October 6). Several items, including Bronze Age gold jewellery, were stolen from a display case in the main building. Searches are continuing for the stolen items.
