The Animal Law Foundation, supported by 42 organisations and legal experts, has written to the newly formed Welsh Government calling on it to confirm that boiling decapod crustaceans, including lobsters and crabs, alive is illegal under existing Welsh law, and to commit to publishing official guidance. Local hospice at home charity, HAHAV Ceredigion, today (3 July) officially celebrates its return to its headquarters and Living Well Centre at Plas Antaron, in Penparcau near Aberystwyth after completing the first phase of a major refurbishment. Porthcawl Padel has transformed underused tennis courts in a prime seafront location into a new outdoor padel facility following a £60,000 loan from the Development Bank of Wales. The Football Association of Wales (FAW) has launched Cymru Football TV, a new streaming platform that will become the exclusive home for live coverage of every match in the Novira Cymru Premier. More than 1,300 hikers went the extra mile along the Gower Peninsula on 27th June taking on a Macmillan Cancer Support Mighty Hike and raising an incredible £477,649 so far to help fund vital Macmillan information and support services for people living with cancer. Walking 13 or 26 miles along the stunning coastline, hikers faced a physically demanding challenge, powered by personal reasons, determination and a shared commitment to support others. Cardiff City FC Community Foundation has generated more than £66 million in social value over the last two seasons, new independent analysis has found. The official charity of Cardiff City Football Club delivered £32.9 million in social value in 2024/25 alone, with every £1 invested in its work returning £19 in benefits for people and communities across Cardiff and South Wales. The findings show the value of the Community Foundation’s work in improving people’s health and wellbeing, building stronger communities, helping young people gain confidence and skills, and creating routes into education, training and employment.
