The local community and members of the public are being asked for their views on a proposed new bridge across the River Taff. The proposed pedestrian and cycle bridge between the Marl in Grangetown and Hamadryad Park in Butetown supports the Council’s wider regeneration scheme to redevelop the Channel View estate. Derelict buildings are being brought back to life, business premises have been improved and people have been helped to find work, thanks to a multi-million pound investment across Swansea over the last year or so. Swansea Council has approved hundreds of projects across the city and county that are being funded by the UK Government through the UK Shared Prosperity Fund. This includes work that’s taken place to restore the Swiss Cottage in Singleton Park. All Pembrokeshire County Council town car parks will once again be free to motorists on weekends in December. Parking will be free in December on the following dates: Sunday 1st, Saturday 7th, Sunday 8th, Saturday 14th, Sunday 15th, Saturday 21st, Sunday 22nd, Saturday 28th, Sunday 29th. Welsh competitors claimed an incredible 70 medals at the SkillBuild and WorldSkills UK National Finals, setting the stage for Wales hosting the event in 2025. Immediate financial support will be provided to people whose homes have been flooded during Storm Bert. The Welsh Government will fund local authorities to provide grants of £1000 for households without insurance cover, or £500 to affected households with existing insurance cover.
