Two teenage boys have been arrested following a serious assault on a 12-year-old girl in Barry at the weekend. Police were called at around 5pm on the weekend (Sunday, November 24) to a report of an assault near the Harbour Road car park in Barry Island. The girl was taken to the University Hospital of Wales, Cardiff, with serious injuries. Her condition is described as not life-threatening. A Carmarthenshire man has been jailed after being convicted of child sex offences. 45-year-old Alexander Wilson, from Llanelli, was charged with two counts of rape of a child under 13 and one count of cause/incite a child under the age of 13 to engage in sexual activity. Wilson’s offending was identified when his victim texted a ‘safe word’ to their mother to signify that they felt that they were in danger.
