Traffic disruption on one of Cardiff’s busiest roads has now been cleared after a temporary closure earlier today. According to South Wales Police, officers attended an incident on the A48 Western Avenue which resulted in the eastbound carriageway being shut in the direction of Ely. The closure was in place from the junction with Cardiff Road and Eastern Avenue, causing disruption for motorists travelling through the area. Police have since confirmed that the road has fully reopened. No further details about the nature of the incident have currently been released.

A man has been jailed after he was found hiding in a cupboard when police raided a Swansea cannabis farm. 42-year-old Antonjo Kodheli, of no fixed abode, was found inside the property on Bryn Y Môr Crescent, Uplands when officers conducted a search at the address. A total of 539 plants were found across eight rooms in the property. Kodheli pleaded guilty to being concerned in the production of a controlled drug of Class B. Traffic disruption continues on the westbound M4 this afternoon following earlier incidents across South Wales. According to Traffic Wales, motorists travelling westbound between Junction 23A at Magor and Junction 26 at Malpas are being advised to allow extra time for their journeys due to ongoing congestion. The warning comes after an earlier incident on the M4 westbound between Junction 42 at Earlswood and Junction 43 at Llandarcy.
