Merthyr Tydfil’s new indoor market was officially opened this week by Jayne Bryant, Cabinet Secretary for Housing and Local Government. The eagerly awaited market opened its doors for trade in December 2025 – just one day after the former market closed – marking the start of a new era with a modern, vibrant, community-centred market. This £2.3 million redevelopment has been made possible through the Welsh Government’s Transforming Towns programme and the UKSPF Programme Jayne Bryant, Cabinet Secretary for Housing and Local Government, said: “This new market is a fantastic example of what our Transforming Towns funding can achieve. People in Wales will have their personal data better protected after the Senedd approved regulations on 10 March abolishing the open electoral register. The Representation of the People (Removal of the Edited Register) (Wales) Regulations 2026 will end the practice of selling voters’ details to direct marketing and other commercial organisations. Young people and those considered vulnerable are among those who will benefit most, as they will be better protected from targeting by harmful organisations. These changes will take effect after May’s Senedd elections on 1 October and will apply to the register used for future local and Senedd elections. The change also…
The Welsh Government is today (Thursday 12 March) unveiling its landmark ten-year strategy to prevent and respond to child sexual abuse. Wales becomes the first nation in the UK to launch a decade-long strategy on the issue. The strategy sets out a vision that all children in Wales live free from the harm of sexual abuse, and that everyone affected is protected…

Paying contractors across borders can quickly become complicated. Traditional bank transfers often take days, come with hidden fees, and create confusion over exchange rates. Many companies are now using stablecoins to pay overseas contractors, leveraging modern payout platforms that make international payments faster, more transparent, and cost-effective. These platforms not only speed up settlements but also provide full visibility into fees, transaction status, and compliance measures. For businesses managing global teams, this can translate into significant savings, improved operational efficiency, and stronger relationships with contractors who receive their payments promptly and reliably. Why Businesses Are Adopting Modern Payout Platforms Modern…
A few years ago, a walking guide based in Llanberis told a journalist something that stuck. He said the strangest thing about his job was how often clients arrived and seemed genuinely surprised that Wales existed. Not geographically — they knew where it was. But they had no idea what was actually there. They booked because a friend mentioned it, or they found a trail on an app, and then they showed up and couldn’t quite believe what they were looking at. That gap — between perception and reality — is probably the most honest explanation for why Welsh outdoor…
A great Minecraft world feels alive. Smooth gameplay, quick loading, and creative mods turn simple blocks into rich adventures. Many players overlook one factor behind successful multiplayer worlds: infrastructure. Hosting quality decides whether exploration feels smooth or frustrating. Modern communities build far more than villages and castles. Many craft frightening experiences using Minecraft Bedrock horror mods that add darkness, strange sounds, and unpredictable creatures. These experiences require stable technical support to function properly. A hosting industry report showed that servers using SSD storage reduce world loading times by almost 60% compared with traditional drives. Faster loading keeps multiplayer sessions stable…
So you’ve pinned down your ideal audience for your marketing campaign. Great, that’s the right place to start, but the next challenge is reaching enough of them to make your campaign effective. And the issue here doesn’t necessarily relate to weak messaging, but rather to the campaign not being seen by enough people. Improving audience reach isn’t always about spending more money or producing more content; it comes down to distribution. It’s where the campaign appears, how many places it appears, and how easily people can encounter it across different parts of their day. Improving audience reach is looking at…
The Celtic Freeport welcomed MorGen Energy’s decision to approve the final investment decision (FID) for a green hydrogen production facility in the Milford Haven Tax Site. The West Wales Hydrogen project is among the first supported by the UK Government’s flagship Hydrogen Allocation Round (HAR1) to reach this milestone. With construction expected to begin in 2026 and commissioning planned for early 2028, the plant will produce around 2,000 tonnes of low carbon hydrogen each year in line with the UK’s Low Carbon Hydrogen Standard. The hydrogen will support various applications, including port decarbonisation, industrial heating, manufacturing and use as a…
Officers in St Mellons have been given extra powers to prevent gatherings and anti-social behaviour following an incident in the shopping district. Police were called to the Tesco car park at around 5.30pm yesterday (Tuesday, March 10) to a report of criminal damage and stones being thrown at cars. This is the latest in a number of reported incidents at the location involving large groups of young people causing criminal damage, acting in an anti-social manner and behaving aggressively towards members of the public and police officers.
