Thousands of runners and supporters enjoyed Admiral Swansea Bay 10k (Sunday September 15). Crowds started gathering at around 8.30am as runners prepared for the main race. This headed west from the Recreation Ground to Mumbles and then back along the Prom to the finish line on Mumbles Road near the Recreation Ground. After the success of the previous Job Fair, Working Denbighshire’s September job fair will return to 1891 Bar and Restaurant in the Pavilion in Rhyl. Being held on the 25th of September, the Autumn Job Fair will run from 10am-4pm and give an opportunity for anyone that is unemployed or looking for a career change to gain access to local employment options, as well as hear about the various training and apprenticeships opportunities that are open for applications. Swansea Bay City Deal has appointed Virgin Media O2 Business to build a dedicated dark fibre network to 36 public sector sites throughout Swansea and Neath Port Talbot. The new network will improve digital connectivity across the region with local authorities, healthcare and education partners all benefiting. Dark fibre network models offer practically limitless capacity and speeds, allowing significant amounts of heavy data to be stored and shared securely between public sector sites through existing unused optical fibre cabling. IRONMAN Wales returns to Pembrokeshire in just over a week and there will be full and partial road closures in and around the south of the County. IRONMAN Wales will be held on Sunday, 22nd September with thousands of athletes from all over the world taking part in a 2.3mile swim, followed by a 112mile bike ride before finishing with a 26.2mile run. The swim starts at 7.30am and the predicted last finisher time is around 1am the following morning. Three brothers are preparing to open a new café bar after taking over the lease of the former Coffi Vista site, in a prime location opposite the town’s magnificent castle. Ahead of the anniversary of the introduction of the 20mph default speed limit in Wales, Cabinet Secretary for Transport and North Wales, Ken Skates, has set out the next steps. Earlier this year, the Cabinet Secretary announced a three phase-plan on 20mph,  including a National Listening Programme over the summer, which encouraged people to get involved and have their say.
